A year from now .....
I am taking part in the #yarnfriendsrock challenge on Instagram. Day 6 was a year from now. It really got me thinking about where I would...
I've been working on some new designs over the summer. I was lucky to be part of the new Hobby Craft Granny Square CAL again this year. I designed my oops! square - I then created extra lolly squares and created the Oops Beach Bag.
As I'm trying to use up my yarn stash next came the Granny Square Satchel - a simple and easy to make bag created just using granny squares . Both the bag patterns are free on my site, click on the tabs above.
Next I finally finished my Swan Lake blanket. A beautifully simple blanket consisting of rows of HDC and finished with a elegant crab stitch border. This pattern is available in my Etsy and Ravelry shops.
This is my latest pattern design. I've never created a filet crochet pattern before so it was a bit of a learning curve. I really enjoyed making this pattern it was so easy to do. I've also made the falling blossom flowers part of the pattern - so no appliques ! Hope you like it!
I made my daughter a slightly different version of the unicorn dreams blanket - less bobble hearts!
As the weather is getting cold, my work place at the day job is freezing! I decided to take hot water bottles in for myself and my colleague. I made them to match the fingerless mitts pattern.
It fits a 1litre hot water bottle. I've added the pattern onto the mitts one.
If you purchased the original pattern on Ravelry, I've added an update - you will now have 2PDF's.
On Etsy I sent emails with the pattern to everyone who purchased it.
These are my Cath Kidston inspired fingerless mitts pattern. I want to make granny square mitts that looked like roses. I used my usual Stylecraft Special DK yarn and a 3mm hook. I have been making lots of pairs of these for Christmas presents!
These are my new Rainbow Burst Mitts.
A nice and simple design that is quick and easy to make. The free pattern can be found here.....
I have finally written up the pattern for my Rainbow Rose Blanket.
I used the purple rose square pattern which is free on my website under the Unicorn Dreams CAL tab on the drop down menu. (There is also a video tutorial for it).
The full Rainbow Rose Blanket which includes the square, join and border can be purchased on Ravelry or Etsy for £1.50
This is my multi vehicle blanket, it is made up of my 15 different vehicle/ transport designs. (These can also be purchased separately, please see my Ravelry store). Pattern also includes instructions for the coloured squares, join and border.
Each square is 19cmx19cm. The overall blanket measures 100cm x120cm. Although smaller / larger sizes can be achieved by using different sized hooks.
This pattern uses basic stitches such as single crochet, half double crochet, slip stitch and single crochet decreases. All the vehicles with the exception of the helicopter have both a chart and written instructions.
Pattern is my own original design, described in English, using US terminology.
This pattern is available to purchase on Ravelry https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/multi-vehicle-blanket/patterns
or https://www.etsy.com/shop/CuteCrochetMakes
These are the individual vehicle/ transport squares.
Each square measure 19cm x19cm although smaller sizes can be achieved by using smaller hooks.
There are 15 different patterns:
Digger
Ambulance
Camper Van
Monster Truck
Recovery Truck
Lorry
Dumper Truck
Train and Carriage
Helicopter
Police Car
Sailing Boat
Fire Engine
Cement Mixer
Tractor
London Bus
I have finally uploaded the Unicorn Cushion Pattern to Ravelry. It has taken quite a while to write up all the pattern and have them tested. I have listed the patterns individually and as a complete cushion eBook pattern. I did this as I was asked about individual squares as some of you wanted to make blankets out of them.
I'm currently making a baby blanket out of 4 of the squares. I cant wait to see what squares you choose and what you make.

Welcome to the Unicorn Dreams CAL. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing all the patterns I created and used to create this blanket.
For this blanket I used Stylecraft special DK yarn in the following colours:
Candyfloss, Apricot, Lemon, Spring green, Sherbet, Clematis, Wisteria, White with a small amount of black for the facial features.
See WEEK1 of the CAL for the amount of wool required.
I used a 3mm and 4mm hook.
Tension is 19 stitches x 11 rows = 10cm using 4mm hook (working in rows of DC (UK TR) )
I crochet quite tight so my squares measured approx 12cm x12cm.
The squares are all made separately and then joined together with a continuous flat braid join. I made 49 squares but you can choose to pick and mix whichever squares you like.
The overall weight of the blanket was approx. 970g and it measured 107cm x107cm.
