Keep Cosy Blanket CAL

Picsart_22-11-29_18-45-54-898.png

This year I wanted to create a blanket that could be used not only for Christmas but all year round. I thought about what I like to do on my days off and its simple, crochet, watch Netflix, drink hot chocolate and keep cosy!

This blanket is a great stash buster; I used up all my left over bits of Stylecraft Special DK yarn (I have an awful lot of pastel colours!). I used less than a ball of the following colours

  • Fondant

  • Candyfloss

  • Apricot

  • Lemon

  • Spring Green

  • Sherbet

  • Clematis

  • Wisteria

  • Lavender

  • Bluebell

  • Small amounts of Silver and Black.

I used a 4mm hook throughout with a 3mm hook for the mug appliques.

I tried to use lots of different stitches in my design that are effective but easy to do. These include

  • Bobble Stitch

  • Rice Stitch

  • Florette Stitch

  • Lemon Peel Stitch and more.

I have included charts for the lettering parts and coloured charts which are easier to follow.

Keep Cosy Part 1

Part 1 starts with FPDC and BPDC stitches. the 1st section consists of the Rice ST, followed by the Moss ST and then onto the yarn balls section.

Keep Cosy Part 2

Part 2 starts with the Lemon Peel ST, followed by the bobble CROCHET section and finished with the Waffle ST.

Keep Cosy Part 3

Part 3 begins with the tapestry crochet TV's, followed by the Floret ST - which leads on to the Netflix Section and then more different stitch rows.

Keep Cosy Part 4

Part 4 begins with mug appliques (I had to add some appliques!).  Followed by the Bobble KEEP COSY and then the V- ST.

Complete the blanket with a chunky FPDC, BPDC border.
