Who doesn't love a Rose blanket?

(Pattern is below). I made this blanket for my niece who is due next month and is going to be called Sophia Rose. I thought this blanket would be perfect. Its so quick and easy to make.

I used Stylecraft special DK less than a ball of each of the following colours:

White

Candyfloss

Bright pink

Spring green

Fondant.

I used a 4.5mm hook and my blanket measured 78cmx79cm.

I used my Purple Rose Square pattern from Week 6 of the Unicorn Dreams CAL.  (this is also a You Tube video tutorial available for this. Click on the buttons below).

For each square I did the last SC round in the same colour as the flower.

I then joined the 25 squares together using the flat braid join from Week 8 of the CAL. (Each square has 13 chain loops). Again there is a YouTube tutorial available for the join. Click on the buttons below).

I then did a round of SC around the border, making 1SC in each CH space and 1SC in each stitch around with (2SC, CH2, 2SC) in the corner spaces.

Finally I finished the blanket off with a picot border. SLST into the corner space then * (CH4, SC in the 4th CH from the hook), skip a stitch. Then make 1SC in the next 2 stitches. Repeat from * around. Finishing by SLST in the 1st CH of the beginning CH4.
